Open roles

  • Open Settings, then Roles
  • Review built-in Admin, Manager, and Rep roles before creating custom roles
  • Use custom roles when a teammate needs a narrow permission set

Best practice

  • Give billing, integrations, logs, and role editing only to trusted admins
  • Use manager roles for team visibility without full workspace control
  • Review roles after org changes or offboarding
  • Test a custom role with a non-critical account before rollout

Common issues

  • User cannot see a page — check route permission and role assignment
  • User sees too much — move them to a narrower role
  • Role changes not visible — ask the user to refresh or sign in again
