Tasks on Schedule

Create, assign, complete, and link tasks to contacts, leads, deals, and meetings.

Before you begin

You need permission to create tasks. Some roles can only complete or edit tasks assigned to them.

Create a task

  • Open Schedule
  • Click the plus menu
  • Choose Task
  • Add title, due date, priority, assignee, and linked record
  • Save the task

Complete a task

  • Open the task from Schedule, Dashboard, or the linked record
  • Review the context before marking complete
  • Click Complete or update the task status
  • Add a note if the task outcome matters for the timeline

What you should see

Open tasks should appear for the assignee. Completed tasks should stay visible on the linked record timeline for history.

Common issues

  • Cannot assign — your role may not include assign permission
  • Task not visible — check assignee and date filters
  • Task appears at the wrong time — check timezone settings
