Cadences

Use cadences to run repeatable multi-step follow-up across email, SMS, calls, and manual touches.

What cadences are for

A cadence is a reusable follow-up sequence. Use it when a contact or lead needs several touches over time, not a one-time blast.

Real estate workspaces use Contacts. Other industries use Leads. The same cadence rules apply to both.

Templates vs active instances

  • Template: the reusable blueprint with steps, timing, copy, and channels.
  • Active instance: the running copy of a template on one contact or lead.
  • Editing a template changes future enrollments. It does not rewrite historical activity already completed on existing instances.

Step types

  • Email steps need a connected mailbox and an eligible email address.
  • SMS steps need Phone & SMS setup, verified mobile number, and consent where required.
  • Call steps create a call task or route the record into a Dialer queue.
  • LinkedIn or manual steps remind the rep to complete an outside action and log the result.

Safe sending rules

  • Replies can pause the cadence so automation does not continue after a prospect responds.
  • Opt-outs, do-not-contact flags, failed verification, and missing fields skip affected steps.
  • Quiet hours and role permissions may block or delay call and SMS actions.
